ஓம் ஸ்ரீ ராகவேந்திராய நமஹா- OM SRI RAGHAVENDRAYA NAMAHA - Moola Manthram

Being a devotee of Baghavan Guru Raghavendra Swamy, we all might have encountered Baghavan Guru's blessing at somepoint in our life.

We all know Sri Poornapotha stothram is very powerful and blessed by Guru himself. There are few who may not be able to memorize the stothram fully. Even I recite the stothram along with an audio file, though this is in sanskrit, Guru would expect only true bakthi and not the actual pronouciation.

For those who struggle to memorize Sri Poornapotha stothram and who need the printout or audio files to recite this stothram, reciting Baghavan's moola manthram is the boon.

OM SRI RAGHAVENDRAYA NAMAHA - ஓம் ஸ்ரீ ராகவேந்திராய நமஹா is the moola manthram that all devotees would recite followed by Poojyaya and Sri Poornapotha stothram.

This moola manthram is so powerful that reciting it with true bakthi and devotion for once, we will get the blessings of our Baghavan Guru Raghavendra Swamy.

Reciting it for 108 times daily will give us the blessings of Guru and will also help us to lead a right life with truth and honesty.

There are innumerous times that Baghavan has blessed devotees and even all us will receite this moola manthram when we see Baghavan's picture or photo in a temple.

What we need is not the number of times we recite this, but even it is 1 time, how true and devotion we have is what important.

Pls. recite this and get the blessing of Guru Baghavan Raghavendra Swamy. Gururajar will always be there to bless and take care of his devotees.

Power of Guru Stotram

As a ardant devotee of our Bhagavan Guru Ragavendra swamy, we all know the importance of Guru Stotram. This was authored by his ardent devotee Sri Appanacharya on the day of Bridavanam prevesam and when Sri Appanacharya reached reached Mantralayam by crossing the Tungabadra river flood, he was not able to see our Guru's face and he stopped the stotram and wept before Guru's brindavan. The first miracle that our Baghavan did after attaining Jeeva Samadhi in Mantralayam Bridavanam is to complete the Guru Stotram by saying "sakshee Hya Stotra hi" which means "the truth of this is witnessed by Lord Hayagreeva himself"

Since Guru himself completed the stotram this is so powerful and it has been blessed by Guru himself.

Other thing that we need to note is even while authoring this stotram by Sri Appanacharya, the flood in Tungabadra river gave way to Sri Appanacharya to rush to see his beloved Baghavan and Master.

From the day on Mantralayam Brindavanam prevesham to this day, this Guru Stotram is being recited by thousands and thousands of people across the globle. Any devotee of our beloved Baghavan Guru will know the power of stotram. The three important stotram that all devotee of our Guru are

1. Baghavan Guru Raghavendra Swamy's Moola Mantram which is
   "OM SRI RAGHAVENDRAYA NAMAHA"

2. Poojayaya Raghavendrayaa satya dharma ratayacha
   Bajatham kalpakavirukshaya namatham Kamathenuvey

3. Guru Stotram.

All these have very unique power and reciting it with devotion and pure mind will take is to the lotus feet of our Baghavan Guru Raghavendra swamy.

Best way to recite this Guru Stotram is in the morning after taking bath. Procedure is, take a glass of water and keep it before the picture of Guru Baghavan Raghavendra swamy and start reciting the stotram. At the end of the stotram, distribute the water as a theertham to all the members in the family. This water is so holy and powerful before it gets the power of stotram.

There are miracles that Guru performed by using this holy water after reciting Guru Stotram.

Start reciting the Guru Stotram in this way and in few months the power will be realized.

Sri Baghavan Raghavendra Swamy - Guru Raghavendra Swamy - Birth - Series 7

In Kaliyuga, SanghuKarna devatha was born again to service Lord Narayana. He was born to a great Veena scholor Thimmana Bhattar and Srimathi Goppikamba as a second son through the blessing of Lord
Thirupathi Venkatachalapathi on Thursday of Phalguna (panguni) month on Mirugashirisha natchathiram in the year 1592 at Bhuvanagiri which is close to Chiambaram in Tamilnadu.

Before going to this details, lets see the parambara of Thimmanabhattar. Baghavan Guru Raghavendra swamy family was skilled in music and litrary. Thimmana bhattar's father Sri Kanakachala bhattar lived in vijayanagar kingdom and was very efficient in literature and sasthras. His father , great grand father of Guru
Baghavan Raghavendra swamy is krishnabhattar is an expert in veena and he tutored king krishnadevaraya of vijayanagara kingdom. So the entire family and parampara of Guru Raghavendra swamy were will scholored in music, literature and sasthras. The family gothra is gouthama kothara.

Since the family was very expert in music and close to kingdom, they had a very good life in vijayanagara kingdom. Sri Thimmana bhattar was married to srimathi Gopikamba and they were blessed with a son named Sri Guru rajar. Sri Thimmana bhattar brought up his elder son and taught him right sasthras and music. Later they were blessed with a daughter named Venkatamba.

This was the time when vijayanagara kingdom was coming down in 1595 when temples and other places were looted. Learned scholors and pandits were leaving the kingdom towards south where they would get
right recognition and Sri Thimmana Bhattar also moved along with them with his family and children leaving all their wealth and property. Sri Thimmana bhattar travelled down the south. During early days
Vijayanagara kingdom was expanded down south of tamilnadu and they had representatives in tamilnadu who were manging the places with the control of Vijayanagara kingdom. One of them were Gingee Nayakar
kingdom who were managing the few places in tamilnadu between 15th and 16th century. When Vijayanagara kingdom was falling down they declared themself as an independent kingdom. The origins of this kingdom were beleived to me migrated from Vijayanagara kingdom. So when Thimmana Bhattar thought to move down south, he went down and settled in this Gingee Nayakar kingdom in a place called Bhuvanagiri in Tamilnadu which is close to Chidambaram.

At the right age, Sri Thimmana married Venkatamba to a scholor Sri Narashimarchar from Madurai, who is expect in sasthras and literature. Also around that time, Sri Thimmana bhattar sent Guru rajar to gurukulam to learn sasthras.

Sri Thimmana Bhattar wanted to have a son who would follow him and learn Veena. Also Guru rajar was in gurukulam and daughter has been married, both Sri Thimmana Bhattar and Srimathi Gopikamba wanted another son. They made a pilgrimage to Thirupathi to get the blessings of Lord Venkateswara. Once they returned from Thirupathi, they were blessed with a beautiful son and named him as Venkatanathan.

Venkatanatha was growing like every other kid in the city but he has an eternal appearance and everyone were attracted towards Venkatanathan.

Sri Thimmana started to teach Veena to Sri Venkatanathan and at around 8 years of age, Sri Thimmana bhattar did upanayanam go Sri Venkatanathan as per Madhawa rituals

Madhava Navami 19-Feb-2013 - Celebrations in Mantralayam

Madhava Navami is being celebrated to remember Guru Lord Madhavacharya. Madhavacharya was the first to spread the Dwaitha philosophy which is considered as Philosophy of reality.

Lord Madhavarcharya is considered as an incarnation of Lord Anjeneyar.

Vayu deva -> Lord Anjeneyar - > King Bheema -> Guru Madhavacharya.

Guru Madhavacharyar's  birth name is Vasudeva. It is believed that he lived in this earth for 79 years and reached to Lord Narayana's feet directly. His period is considered between 1238 to 1317.

Guru Madhavacharyar installed Lord Krishna in Udupi based on the sandlewood that he got while saving a ship which was troubled in the sea close to Udupi due to bad weather.

Guru Madhavacharyar written several scriptures and they are called as "Sarvamoola Granthas", these scriptures are written by his disciples during the dictation of Guru. The life history of Guru Madhavarcharya has been captured in "Madhava Vijaya" which has 16 chapters.

There is also a saying that when "Raghavendra Vijaya" was authored to capture the life history of Guru Raghavendra Swamy, Guru did not included few chapters and wanted to limit the chapters less then 16 so not to exceed "Madhava Vijaya"

Guru Madhavacharyar started the Guru Parampara who followed Dwaitha philosophy and two famous diciples were Narahari Teerthar and Padmanaba Teerthar. Narahari Teerthar was the one who brought Moola Rama from the king for poojas which is still followed in our Mantralayam.

Madhavacharyar has a very strong body and good physical strength even to this day, the huge rock-boulder lifted up and placed in the river Bhadra by the Acharya to help villagers is still available and witness the strength of Madhavarcharyar, near Kalasa bears witness to his strength. This incident is confirmed by the sentence inscribed on that stone.

Guru Madhavacharyar won several debates and faced several oppositions while spreading the Dwaitha philosophy. Guru has travelled length and breadth of the country to spread the Dwaitha philosophy.

During the travel, when Guru reached Kurushetra, he showed the burried mace of Kind Bhima (previous incarnation) to his diciples and burried it again the land.

No one knew how Guru Madhavacharyar attained Lord Narayanan's feet, however he told his diciples that he will leave alone from Udipi to Badri and the day he left Udipi is celebrated as "Madhava Navami".

This year Madhava Navami falls on 19-Feb-2013, is celebrated in Mantralayam

Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy Jayanthi (Vardhanti) - 19th Mar 2013

This year, our Guru Baghavan Raghavendra Swamy's Jayanthi falls on 19th Mar 2013. The day has been calculated based on Phalguna Shuddha Saptami as per hindu calandar and in 2013, this falls on 19th Mar.

I have been posting this for last 2 years in my blog. On this day, we are blessed to give a gift to our Guru by chanting "Sree Raghavendraya Namaha" a minimum of 16,000 times before 19th Mar 2013.

Once you complete this, you can share the details to the email id "info@saptaaha.com".
Last year I was not able to meet this number , I was able to do only around 12,000 chants.
This time,I am very much devoted to chant above 16,000 times.

Since we have 60+ days, 500 chants a day, we can meet the minimum number.

Phalguna Shuddha Saptami is the BIRTH DAY FESTIVAL of “SRI RAGHAVENDRA SWAMY (GURURAJARU)”

It is customary that one gives out a gift to the beloved on the occasion of the Birth Day
The most liked item or the choice of Sri Raghavendra Swamy is the chanting of
“SRI RAGHAVENDRAYA NAMAHA” When we chant “SRI RAGHAVENDRAYA NAMAHA”, it is in turn offered by Sri Raghavendra Swamy to SRI VAYU DEVARU and SRI RAMA DEVARU.

Hence, chanting of “SRI RAGHAVENDRAYA NAMAHA” is not only liked by “Sri Raghavendra Swamy”
but it also fulfils the desires of the devotees because it is delivered to
