Recently we celebrated with devotion on our Guru's 412th Birthday on feb 29th 2012. In Mantralaya there was a celebration for 1 full week. As we all know Guru was born on a Phaalguna Suddha
Saptami. Most of us also know that Guru was born on 1595 and Phaalguna Suddha
Saptami falls on different day every year as per english calendar which we all follow unanimously.
I have been trying to find out the exact date of birth of our Guru Raghavendra Swamy as per english calendar. Atlast I was able to find it. In 1595, March 6th was the day when Guru Raghavendra Swamy was born which was Phaalguna Suddha Saptami.
We also know that Guru went into Brindavan in Mantralayam during the year 1671. The exact date is August 11th 1671. This day falls on Thursday which is Shraavana Bahula.
I was able to get these details from recent mantralayam series.

Nice sir. But english calender too has some flaws. Since manybdays were deleted or were added over a period of time.

As per dob 18.3.1595 moon stays in Scorpio....as per Ephemeris calendar stats....mrigashira is in taurus !!

ReplyDeleteVery good information. But it is said that Guru Raghavendra Swamiji had many planets exalted in his birtchart similar to that of Lord Srirama. But if we take 18 march 1595 as his date of birth that is not the case. Only Nakshatra is matching. If someone can provide his birtchart it would be good to do research.

Dear Sirs, I believe the dates given in this blog on Rayaru's birth appear correct. We must remember that the English dates are in Julian Calendar, which was replaced by the present Gregorian calendar in the year 1582 in Europe. The British, however, adopted the Gregorian calendar some time in the 18th century, perhaps around 1723 AD.

Rayaru's birth: 18th March 1595, estimated 0623 hrs, Bhuvanagiri, Tamil Nadu
Rayaru's samadhi: 21st August 1671, estimated 1330 hrs, Mantralayam, Adoni District.

Swamy’s birth place is Tamilnadu,
the palguna suklalabtcha Saptami with Mirugasira as birth star is possible only in Tamil month Panguni.

Found with the help of Google search that Rayaru's birthday would have fallen on 18-03-1595, which coincides with Saptami/Ashtami with Mrigasheersham.
